DON'T GET IT TWISTED, IT HAD TO BE GOD
"Faith is not the belief that God will do what you want. It is the belief that God will do what is right." - Max Lucado
A young man had experienced pain so much that people advised him to go for deliverance. Everywhere he turned, there seemed to be an issue. His slogan became, "it will get worse" because somehow problems he never thought about kept coming up. To crown it all, he was born again, devoted, committed and loved God wholeheartedly. This young man needed help, but the more he prayed the worse it got. He had goals to achieve but the year was almost over, and nothing seemed to happen for him.
One of the greatest lies anyone can be told is that, being born again insulates you from trouble. As a matter of fact, becoming born again attracts troubles: pressed down, shaken together and running over into your life. Sorry to burst your bubble. But one truth is, you become qualified for victory. Everybody that God wants to use has got to come out of a situation where it's got to be proven that it's God that's doing it. And the longer you wait for something, the longer your resources are dried up. The reason is because God's purpose for His children is shrouded in time. Until your appointed time for blessing, lifting and breakthrough comes, troubles will overshadow you.

FINISHING STRONG, 9: PAY YOUR DEBT
"The speed of your success is limited only by your dedication and what you're willing to sacrifice" - Nathan W. Morris
You must have come across the phrase, "A promise made is a debt
unpaid", well The 9th P, of the the "Finishing Strong" series, stands
for PAY.
You ask "What shall I Pay?", The answer is "YOUR DEBT", again you say, "I don’t owe anyone". I'll explain. It may be true that you owe no one in terms of cash or material possessions, but permit me to announce to you that you are a promise made to your generation. You did not just appear upon the earth, you were specifically sent to be an answer to a question. The solution to a problem. You owe your generation a debt of service, one that you must pay.
During World War II, England needed to increase its production of coal. Winston Churchill called together labor leaders to enlist their support. At the end of his presentation he asked them to picture in their minds a parade which he knew would be held in

WHAT DO YOU SEE?
"What you see and what you hear depends a great deal on where you are
standing. It also depends on what sort of person you are." - C.S. Lewis
Different people, in good faith, can look at the same fact and interpret it differently. The picture painted in our minds, from our observation of a situation is dependent on where we stand or how we're standing. This is one reason why one person makes a statement and another listener gets infuriated. Why? Perception. Two people can see a glass of water and argue all day that it's half full or half empty. And I dare say, that, both of them are correct, it depends.
Everyone has the right to their interpretation of situations. What is most important is your understanding or explanation of the situation. Even though, Job couldn't exactly understand why so much calamity befell him in quick successions, he must have interpreted it differently than his wife and friends did. No wonder, his wife asked him to curse God, and die. She must've pictured sin, guilt and fault as the cause but Job saw different pictures, which is why I believe he refused to curse God. Are you going through great pain, terror and terrible losses? Has everyone advised you to go for deliverance? Or have you even been told like Job's wife, to curse God and die?

WATCH THEM
"Think twice before
you speak, because your words and influence will plant the seed of
either success or failure in the mind of another." - Napoleon Hill
A farmer insulted his neighbor. Realizing his mistake, he went to the preacher to ask for forgiveness. The preacher obliged, but gave him a bag of feathers, asked him to tear the bag and leave it in the center of a windy market. After, he'd done this the preacher asked him to go back, collect all the feathers and put them back in the bag. The farmer tried but couldn't as the feathers had all been blown everywhere. When he returned with the empty bag, the preacher said to him, "The same thing is true about your words. You drop them rather easily, but cannot retrieve them easily."
You sure have heard the mantra, "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me." Right? Well, just because it’s spouted by people doesn’t mean it’s true. As a matter of fact, the real translation is: "Sticks and stones may break my bones for a few days, but words can scar my soul for life." Now, that's better.
Yehuda Berg, once said, "Words are singularly the most powerful force available to humanity. We can choose to use this force constructively with words of encouragement, or destructively using words of despair. Words have energy and power with the ability to help, to heal, to hinder, to hurt, to harm, to humiliate and to humble."

WHAT'S IN YOUR HAND?
"The purpose of human life is to serve, and to show compassion and the will to help others." - Albert Schweitzer
Albert Einstein, made a remark. He said, "Strange is our situation here
upon earth. Each of us comes for a short visit, not knowing why, yet
sometimes seeming to divine a purpose. From the standpoint of daily
life, however, there is one thing we do know: that man is here for the
sake of other men." What a remark indeed.
I see many people aimlessly jump from one career, or one job to another, most for thrill of it, yet others for the financial gains and still some more, to find happiness. This is vanity. Acquiring all the money in the world isn't fulfillment. It is bondage. Do I mean that money isn't good? Absolutely not. I could do with a lot of it now myself. However, my point is, that we're all born, made in God's image and sent to earth for a purpose - to help others. True happiness and fulfillment comes from living a purposeful life. For those wondering, how to find their purpose. The answer is, "What do you have in your hand?"

WHAT'S YOUR LIFE FOR?
"Destiny is no matter of chance. It is a
matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to
be achieved." - William Jennings Bryan
As news flooded in, early how's of Monday 10th November, 2014. The social media world replete with news about the tragedy. I kept wondering, if it was true. I didn't google or jump to the internet to verify, because I didn't want to realize it was true. After, I finally summoned up enough courage, I realized it was true. Dr. Myles Monroe had died. For a while, I tried to relate the revelation of the reality, we wouldn't be able to physically see or hear this great man of purpose again. As a matter of fact, Dr. Myles Munroe was purpose, personified
In this age, generation and time when the youths desire to be like a Whiz Kid, Davido, P-Square, Rick Ross, Beyonce, Jay Z, and so on. Many hardly ever thinking of really impacting their generation or finding the purpose they've been born. They all want to put on "blings", dance around beautiful ladies, and stand before flashy cars. I weep at this, because, like Myles, we all will leave this earth someday, and face our creator.

FINISHING STRONG, 7: PRODUCTS
"If you keep your eye on the profit, you’re going to skimp on the
product. But if you focus on making really great products, then the
profits will follow." - Steve Jobs

As with many innovations, the originator of 3M's sticky yellow Post-its, didn't know what he had at first. Researcher, Spence Sliver was curious about what would happen if he mixed an unusual amount of monomer into a polymer-based adhesive he was working on. The result was an adhesive that would "tack" one piece of paper to another and even re-stick, without leaving any residue on the second piece of paper. The company had no use for the new adhesive until 3M's Chemist, Arthur

WHITE ON BLACK
"Black is the best backdrop, on which to paint white." - Edwin Biayeibo
It was Ralph Waldo Emerson who said, "do not go where the path may
lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail." Someone else
said further, to create a path to your destination when none exists
already. Do the unusual. Many of us, have grown up to become adults with
scars from the many battles life have put us through. Many have been
burnt, others have been gutted, yet others have been roasted on the
coals of life's challenges.

THE BUMBLEBEE
"You cannot believe in God until you believe in yourself." - Swami Vivekananda
According to scientists, the bumblebee's body is too heavy and its wing span too small. Aerodynamically, the bumblebee cannot fly. But the bumblebee doesn't know that and it keeps flying.
When we don't know our limitations, we go out and surprise everyone, including ourselves. We look around and always find a list of many things we cannot do. It is said that, when Ford, told his people he wanted a V8 engine they told him it couldn't be done, he said to them, "do it anyway." Have you been told you cannot fly? Or have you been told that you're so different from the rest, that you're a failure already even before you start? Were you told no one will marry you the way you are? Welcome to reality.
No matter how enlightened your opponents are on why they think you cannot do what you've been made to do, make sure you check with your creator to be sure you're hearing right.

SUSTENANCE IN THE COCOON
"A gem cannot be polished without friction, nor a man perfected without trials." - Lucius Annaeus Seneca
A man found a butterfly's cocoon. One day a small opening appeared. He
sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force
its body through a tiny opening on the cocoon. Then it seemed to stop
making any progress, appearing as if it had gotten as far as it could.
So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and
snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged
easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings. He
continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any
moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the
body, which would contract in time. Neither happened. The butterfly
spent the next couple of minutes crawling around with a swollen body and
shriveled wings. It could never fly. What the man, in his kindness and
haste, did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the
butterfly's struggle to get through the tiny opening were God's way of
forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it
would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.

ARMOUR HONOUR
"What you would not have done to yourselves, never do unto others." - Alexander Severus
A farmer once sold a pound of butter to a baker. One day the baker decided to weigh the butter to see if he was really getting a pound, he found he wasn't. This angered him so he took the farmer to court. The judge inquired from the farmer what scale he was using. The farmer replied, "Amour honour, I am primitive. I don't have a proper measure, but I do have a scale."
The judge asked, "Then how do you weigh the butter?"
The farmer replied "Your Honour, long before the baker started buying butter from me, I have been buying a pound loaf of bread from him. Every day when the baker brings the bread, I put it on the scale and give him the same weight in butter. If anyone is to be blamed, it is the baker."
