The refiner raises the temperature to higher degrees. After the painstaking efforts of skimming off the impurities. He turns up the heat, and places the crucible back into the blistering furnace. Again and again - about seven times more, we are told - as more impurities rise to the surface. An expert refiner knows that only certain impurities are released at certain temperatures. Different impurities require varying degrees of heat to expel them from gold.
Your worth determines your pain, and the type of impurity your refiner desires to expel from you, determines how much heat you'd have to go through. God’s fire is painful and lonely, but it consumes, destroys and expels the dross from your life - we end up better, stronger and purer afterwards. Wonder if you will survive it? Yes, you will!
Some of us complain, and many try to find out why they encounter difficult and trying times. Instead, learn from the trials, the vital lessons for which they were allowed. You're in an examination you must pass; if you hope to advance to the next level. Instead of resisting, just throw your hands up, thank Him for refining you. God is responsible for increasing this heat. If he brought you into the furnace, He will also bring you out, refined, purified, and reflecting His glory.
Trials bring us to perfection, maturity and patience. Afflictions are for us what the furnace and fining pot are to gold; painful but necessary processes of refinement and purification. Our faith is being tried and tested. There's much heaviness, pain and discomfort but, ultimately we're coming forth as pure gold, fit for the masters' use. Shalom!
