"It is not great men who change the world, but weak men in the hands of a great God." - Brother Yun
Neymar |
Over the weekend, the much awaited,
hyped and expected championship final came and now gone, but it's still being
talked about: how Neymar scored a victory sealing goal. However, attention
isn't on the goal, but on the object of his celebration after the goal. One
website is quoted as saying:
"Having just scored
the goal that would secure his side one of the most prestigious and sort after
trophies the world of football has to offer, his first thought was to glorify
someone else. To give credit to someone clearly worth more to him than any champagne
bottle, lap of honour or trophy presentation. Tying a headband to his forehead
with the simple message – '100% Jesus'. Neymar made a clear statement of intent
(to glorify Jesus) to not only the 74 thousand spectators in Berlin’s Olympic
stadium but also to the millions watching on T.V. Jesus is at the center of
Neymar’s life and so must take part in his celebrations.
It was Ken Sande who said,
"When you draw on God's grace to put off your self-centered attitudes and
act on His principles, you put His glory on display. Your life points to His
vast wisdom, compassion, and transforming power, and as you look for God's
glory, the impact reaches far beyond yourself because you give everyone around
you reason to respect and praise God. Glorifying God is not about letting
others see how great you are. It's about letting them see how great the Lord
is."
Ken Sande couldn't have
described Neymar better. We were made SOLELY to give God glory. He seeks
avenues to show forth His glory to the world. He will use anything you do to
receive glory, IF you're willing to be a channel, and not a container. There
have been many crusaders in the past, who have preached great sermons: but I'm
yet to see any of those crusaders, who preached Jesus to a more humongous crowd
and audience at a single time. It will interest you to know that Neymar, by his
singular action, preached Jesus Christ to over 380 Million viewers worldwide -
through football. Let your light so shine before men, and let God be glorified
through your life and career. WOULD YOU BE WILLING TO GLORIFY JESUS AT THE
HEIGHT OF YOUR SUCCESS?
