"Master," the boy said, "Shouldn’t I be learning more moves?"
"This is the only move you know, and will ever need to know." the master replied.
Months later, the boy. Went for his first tournament. Surprisingly, he easily won his first two matches, and even though the third was difficult - yet with his one move - he won, and was in the finals. His opponent this time was bigger, stronger, and more experienced: the boy appeared to be over matched. Concerned that the boy might get hurt, the referee called a time-out. He was about to stop the match when the master intervened. "No, let him continue." replied the master. Soon after the match resumed, his opponent made a critical mistake: he dropped his guard. And the boy used his one move to pin him. He'd won. He was the new champion. On the way home, the boy asked.
"How did I win with only one move?"
"You won for two reasons," replied his master.
"First, you’ve almost mastered one of the most difficult throws, for which the only known defense is for your opponent to grab your left arm...and you my boy, with all due respect do not have a left arm."
Many times in life we get bundled up in tragic experiences, that we almost give up on life as a result. We think we don't stand any chance. It is almost impossible to see how any good, can possibly come, from a bad situation - as losing a limb or any part of your body for that matter. For which, I possibly do not have any word to say. But, I'm certain that no matter how hard the tournament of life is, in which you find yourself, your master has taught you the only move you need to know. Having faith in Him.
This boy’s biggest weakness became his biggest strength. That's why God's Word says, "His strength is made perfect in - your - weakness." God won't allow you get hurt, but when you do. He shows up with healing, because He's the balm of Gilead. Your perceived weakness is God's raw material, for a flawless victory for you, in the tournament of life. He's with you in the fight. He's watching, saying "No, let him continue." because He knows you will win.
