While earnestly waiting for a circus job, a handsome young man who'd
just arrived America with his father from Australia, got a job at the
local shipyards located on the most hideous part of town. On his way
from work one evening he was attacked by thugs: five of them. They over
powered him and beat him to a pulp. Boots to his face, clubs to his head
and body and was left for dead. The police arrived the scene moments
later, assuming he was dead - they called for the Morgue Wagon. A
policeman heard him gasp for air, on their way to the morgue and quickly
made straight for the hospital. After he'd been placed on a gurney the
nurse shrieked in horror. This young man no longer had a face. His eye
sockets smashed, his skull, and limbs fractured, his nose literally
hanging from his face, all his teeth were gone, and his jaw almost
completely torn from his skull. Although he survived, he spent over a
year in the hospital. When he finally left, his body had healed, but his
face was a MESS. It was disgusting to look at. He no longer bore any
semblance of the handsome youth he once was. He went from being admired
by everyone to being rejected by everyone. He was turned down by
everyone, because of the way he looked when sought for a job. Many made
