Have you ever heard the aphorism "sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me"?

Well it's shocking to discover that words hurt you a lot more than sticks or stones can ever do. Someone once said, "make a speech while you're angry and you'll make the best speech you'll regret".

A Professor was traveling by boat in a remote area, where he'd gone for a research. On his way to his hut, from where he'd be conducting his research, he asked his guide who was the sailor:

“Do you know Biology, or Ecology?", he asked. "No sir", replied the guide in a funny English. "What about Zoology, Geography, or Physiology?" "No Sir", replied the sailor again. His response was "No" to his questions.

Professor: "What the hell do you know on earth. You will definitely die of illiteracy." He retorted in irritation.

After a while the boat started to sink. The Sailor, perceiving that the professor didn't know how to swim, asked;

"Prof, do you know Swimmology?"

"No, what's that?"

Asked the Professor, he'd started already to fidget.

"What about Escapology from Sharkology?" He asked Prof. again.

"No, in God's name, what's all that?"

Asked Prof.
 
“Well, Sharkology & Crocodilogy will eat your Assology, and Headology & you will Dieology because of your Badmouthology."

What a conversation.

This might have been a little jhilarious, and might arouse laughter, but in reality most of us set ourselves up with the way we use words indiscriminately; or uncouthly when we speak.

Wrong words build walls around us, they stop wells of favour, set us up against those from whom we can get help in need.

It's imperative that we tame our tongues in everything we do to avoid disasters that hitherto could've been avoided. We should rather listen more and talk less; it's why we have two ears and one mouth. Shut that "hole in your face" today before we all die of "Badmouthology".
