THE, AMEN.

"To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary. To one without faith, no explanation is possible." - Thomas Aquinas

Let us attempt a little study on the word, Amen. This is a most remarkable Word, it was transliterated directly from Hebrew into Greek, of the New Testament, and then further into Latin and into English, then into many other languages: it is practically a universal Word. It has been said to be the best known word in human vocabulary. The word is directly related to the Hebrew word for "believe" (Aman), or "Faithful." Thus, it came to mean "Sure" or "Truly," an expression of absolute trust and confidence. The believer's response to a declaration from God is an, Amen - meaning to say, "so it will be!" Most commonly, it is translated in the New Testament as "verily" or "truly."

When we pray according to His will, we know God will answer, so we close with "Amen." Interestingly, we also conclude a hymn or anthem of praise to, and faith in God with an, Amen. It is also a title of Jesus Christ. His last letters to the seven churches begin with a remarkable salutation - by the
glorified Lord: "These things saith the Amen..." (Rev 3:14).

It is, therefore, profoundly full of meaning that, the entire Bible closes with an "Amen." "The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen" (Rev 22:21), this is an assurance: the Bible is true, and trustworthy. We're certain that, God's Word is ALWAYS true, because He is none other than the Creator of all things. So, the next time you receive a promise, append it with an Amen. Shalom!
