FATHERS URGENTLY NEEDED II

"My dad was my best friend and greatest role model. He was an amazing dad, coach, mentor, soldier, husband and friend." - Tiger Woods

A friend a couple of days ago tried to remind me of a song that was so popular in the 90's. That song, had as it's theme, "Being pregnant outside wedlock." A certain girl, was derided for being pregnant outside marriage, and she hung her head in shame. The point? No girl - long ago - would want to be caught dead with a pregnancy outside wedlock or living with a boyfriend. It was a mega scandal. A taboo. But today? It is the TRENDING thing, for ladies to brandish pregnancies outside wedlock. As a matter of fact, celebrities have made it fashionable, having one, two, or three children for a boyfriend. I believe they call it, "Baby Mama"

Guys impregnate ladies, and hop on to the next available lady on the queue. Without any regard for the child's upbringing. Most end up leaving the ladies with the burden of raising these children alone. Morality today, is on the floor, just before the first rung on the ladder of righteousness. It has crashed. It's not fashionable anymore. Look around, you'll find BOYS everywhere with no idea what it means to really be a MAN, because Fathers have eloped. Today sex before marriage is the "in-thing" with movies, and music encouraging and hyping it.

FATHERS URGENTLY NEEDED I

"Every father should remember that one day his son will follow his example and not his advice." - P Cos.

Fathers Needed
I wish I was writing today’s devotional on Father’s day, but we simply can’t wait that long, because we're in a state of emergency. We're on the very precipice of losing generations of young people worldwide because fathers are at large. Understand me here when I speak of fathers in this light. I simply do not refer to any male figure with (just) the ability to impregnate a woman, truly any fool can do that. But I refer to the men (and women) who have been entrusted by God with the awesome responsibility of raising the next generation of men. Men who will lead families and societies, and are woefully failing in this regard.

A young man was to be sentenced to the penitentiary. The judge had known him from childhood, for he was well acquainted with his father - a famous legal scholar and the author of an exhaustive study entitled, "The Law of Trusts."
"Do you remember your father?" asked the magistrate.
"I remember him well, your honour," came the reply.

CHANGE WITHIN

"If you want to make enemies, try to change something." - Woodrow Wilson

Change Within
When Susan Boyle stepped on the stage of, Britain’s Got Talent, eyes rolled. People laughed. Many made fun of her because her appearance didn't bear any semblance of the glitz or glamour they expected. As she began to sing, mindsets were changed, new impressions were made. Why? She had an amazing voice that was perfection to their ears. The rolling eyes evolved to stunned looks of awe and amazement at this incredibly talented lady. She had something to offer after all. The resounding applause that followed her performance, proved she had what it took to be a star. Her talent was on the inside.

God looks at what we’re all about; by what’s on our insides. He doesn’t care if we have lustrous hair, or no hair at all, He loves us just the way we are. God doesn’t care if our eye lashes are long and full of volume. God loves us just the way we are. He's least concerned whether we're chauffeur driven in a Limousine, or if we take the bus or walk to church - He loves us just the way we are - with the vast resources we have on our inside. Susan would have had people discourage her, and tried as much as making her to doubt herself. In her myriad of feelings, she mustered courage and went ahead.

BE SELFLESS

"The purpose of human life is to serve, and to show compassion and the will to help others." - Albert Schweitzer

Selfless
As humans, in trying to solve a problem we leave the important ingredient out of our recipe. Our world would be a better place if WE would only become more selfless - by doing two simple things. Obeying God's rule:

1. 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and, the second is,
2. (Love) 'your neighbour as yourself.'

It was Richard Whately, who said, "A man is called selfish not for pursuing his own good, but for neglecting his neighbour's." I saw in a CCTV footage, a very striking video. A guy standing next to his car at a gas station, close to the pump. All of a sudden another

THE RUFFLED NEST II

"A dream is your creative vision for your life in the future. You must break out of your current comfort zone and become comfortable with the unfamiliar and the unknown." - Denis Waitley

Rustled Nest II
We began talking about the rustling of the Eagles nest yesterday, and we continue deeper today. Only a handful of people have actually gotten a glimpse of the insides of an eagles nest. When a mother eagle builds her nest she starts with thorns, broken branches, sharp rocks, and other items that seem entirely unsuitable for the project. But then she lines it with thick padding of wool, feathers, and fur from hunted animals: making it soft and comfortable for the eggs. By the time the growing birds reach flying age, the comfort of the nest and the luxury of free meals make them quite reluctant to leave. That's when the mother eagle begins stirring up the nest. With her strong talons she pulls up the thick pads of fur and feathers, bringing the sharp rocks and branches to the surface. As more of the bedding is plucked, the nest becomes uncomfortable for the young eagle.
