THE RUFFLED NEST II

"A dream is your creative vision for your life in the future. You must break out of your current comfort zone and become comfortable with the unfamiliar and the unknown." - Denis Waitley

Rustled Nest II
We began talking about the rustling of the Eagles nest yesterday, and we continue deeper today. Only a handful of people have actually gotten a glimpse of the insides of an eagles nest. When a mother eagle builds her nest she starts with thorns, broken branches, sharp rocks, and other items that seem entirely unsuitable for the project. But then she lines it with thick padding of wool, feathers, and fur from hunted animals: making it soft and comfortable for the eggs. By the time the growing birds reach flying age, the comfort of the nest and the luxury of free meals make them quite reluctant to leave. That's when the mother eagle begins stirring up the nest. With her strong talons she pulls up the thick pads of fur and feathers, bringing the sharp rocks and branches to the surface. As more of the bedding is plucked, the nest becomes uncomfortable for the young eagle.

On December 26th, 2004, the deadliest Tsunami on record hit the South East Coast of Asia. The lives of countless families all over the world changed forever. Lucas, is from one

of those families: his nest was ruffled without him expecting it. I'm interested in Lucas in this true story - from the movie, "Impossible" - because prior to that experience he was a spoilt, irresponsible child who wouldn't even take care of his little 4-year-old brother. But when the waves struck their beach resort, separating him from the other half of his family, he becomes an adult in no time. Having watched the waves rip everything apart in sight. Tossing cars and metal like ping-pong balls. Witnessing his mother's flesh ripped open by broken glass and metal in the chaos of the flood he grew up, from a boy to a man in less than 24hours. How? By discomfort and unpleasant events.

Like Lucas or the baby eagle, God will rustle your nest in 2015, because you cannot afford to remain at ease. There's so much work to be done, and you cannot be saddled with any responsibility in your comfort zone. Some of you - those sincerely praying to God for a change - will lose your lucrative jobs, relationships or certain sources of income and you'd think the end has come, but don't be discouraged, it's all part of the plan. He's only removing the comfortable padding in your nest. You have got to fly. Brace yourself, it's your year of triple grace and rest.
