Selfless

As humans, in trying to solve a problem we leave the important ingredient out of our recipe. Our world would be a better place if WE would only become more selfless - by doing two simple things. Obeying God's rule:

1. 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and, the second is,
2. (Love) 'your neighbour as yourself.'

It was Richard Whately, who said, "A man is called selfish not for pursuing his own good, but for neglecting his neighbour's." I saw in a CCTV footage, a very striking video. A guy standing next to his car at a gas station, close to the pump. All of a sudden another
driver rams into the pump. The impact throws him off , but while on the floor he sees that the pump has begun to burn, in a split second he rushes to the burning pump and car, opens the door and wrestles the drunken, but now unconscious driver out of the burning car, pulls him away from the impending inferno to safety. It was like a movie.

There was fire, and there was gas you do the math - and there could've been an explosion - I bet this man didn't know the culprit from anywhere. Instead of running away, he sacrificed his car and risked his life for a strangers life. What a heart. If only we could look out for those hurting, and lend a helping hand, or take risks to help others, heaven would be on earth already. I know we all have dreams, but I challenge you to go out of your way and indeed love your neighbour as yourself in 2015. Be your brothers keeper, what goes around comes around. Shalom!
