"Duty is the most sublime word in our language. Do your duty in all
things. You cannot do more. You should never wish to do less." - Robert
E. Lee
A little girl came home
from school and said to her mother, "Mummy, today in school I was
punished for something that I didn’t do." The mother exclaimed, "But
that’s terrible! I’m going to have a talk with your teacher about
this...by the way, what was it that you didn’t do?" The little girl
replied, "My Homework."
Robert E. Lee said, "Private and public
life are subject to the same rules; and truth and manliness are two
qualities that will carry you through this world much better than
policy, or tact, or expediency, or any other word that was ever devised
to conceal or mystify a deviation from the straight line." There's so
much truth dripping from this statement by Robert E. Lee. There are so
many people out there, like this little girl, refusing to do their
homework. We want God to bless us, but we must fulfill our part of the
equation.
It is Jesus responsibility, to raise our
Lazaruses, BUT it is our responsibility to ROLL the stone away. His job
is to speak over OUR WORK. If we don't WORK, He won't have anything to
speak over. He will bless the work of YOUR hands. We're punished daily
because we have refused to do, 'OUR' homework. God has a duty, as much
as we do. Stop waiting on God, when all the while He's waiting on you.
Write the proposal: submit it, register the company, fix a date for the
wedding, tell her your heart. Whatever you have to do, do it. Give God
something to speak over.
