HOW MUCH DO YOU CARE?

"Never believe that a few caring people can't change the world. For, indeed, that's all who ever have." - Margaret Mead

What does the word "care" mean to you? Have you ever taken time to evaluate your actions, to truly judge them so you'll know if you had shown real care when you should? It is common for us to say we care, but in truth our caring is valid, ONLY if, the recipient agrees we cared.

A young boy, on an errand for his mother, had just bought a dozen eggs. Walking out of the store, he tripped and dropped the sack. All the eggs broke, and the sidewalk was a mess. The boy tried not to cry. A few people gathered to see if he was okay,
and to tell him how sorry they were. In the midst of the works of pity, one man handed the boy a quarter. Then he turned to the group and said, "I care 25 cents worth. How much do the rest of you care?"

James 2:16 points out that words don't mean much if we have the ability to do more. We all need to live like Jesus did. Don't only talk about your neighbours pain, but also do all in your power to alleviate the pain. Don't only show your works of pity like the rest, but hand out your own quarter to the sorrowful. We can't do everything, true, but everyone of us can do something. Don't only "talk" your care, "show" your care!

WISDOM NUGGET: James 2:16
"And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled..." - KJV

Let us pray: Father, I receive grace to show care from henceforth, in Jesus name.
