"Life begins at the end of your comfort zone." - Neale Donald Walsch
Cut That Branch |
A
king received the gift of two magnificent falcons. They were a pair of
hunting birds, the most beautiful he'd ever seen. He gave the precious
birds to someone to be trained. After a long while, the king was
informed that one of the birds was refusing to fly. As a matter of fact,
it hadn't moved from its branch since it arrived the palace. The king
summoned wise men from all the land to tend to the falcon, yet none
could make the bird fly. The next day, the king looking through the
palace window, realized that the bird still hadn't moved an inch. "I
should get someone familiar with the countryside to understand the
nature of this problem." He said to himself. "Go and get a farmer." He
ordered. The next
morning, the king was stunned to see the falcon soaring high above the palace gardens. Smiling and happy, "Bring me the doer of this miracle." He ordered. Quickly the farmer was called before the king. "How did you pull this off? How did you make the bird to fly?"
Head bowed, he replied. "It was very easy, your highness. I simply cut the branch on which the bird was sitting."
We're ALL born to soar. We all have great destinies and incredible potentials as human. Most of the time we sit on our branches, clinging to the things that are familiar, or comfortable unaware of the endless possibilities staring us in the face. As a result, our lives are mediocre instead of thrilling and fulfilling. I want to challenge you today. Get out of your comfort zone. There's so much on your inside. God has put gifts and talents in you that you probably oblivious of. You've got to jettison that branch NOW!
