The flight to destiny is already being boarded, and is about to take off. It doesn't wait for anyone irrespective of race, age, class or clout. Since it was too late to access her checked-in luggage, it appeared she had no choice but to leave it behind. Some of us consider some things very dear to us that we have a problem letting them go. To our own detriment, we cling to them. Yours might not be an expensive bottle of cognac.
