THE GIFT OF A DAY (19) MAXIMIZE TODAY III

“Besides the noble art of getting things done, there is the noble art of leaving things undone. The wisdom of life consists of the elimination of non essentials.” - Lin Yutang

Maximize Your Day
Most of us realize that certain people are always in motion but never being able to get things done; always chasing after time and wondering if nature cheated them, by cutting down the number of hours in their day to about 12hours only.

A professor stood in class with some items in front of him. Class began, and without saying a word, he picked up a large empty jar and filled it with rocks right to the top, rocks about 2" diameter. He then asked the class if the jar was full. They agreed it was. So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them in to the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, rolled into the open areas between the rocks. The students laughed. He asked his students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was again. He then picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar, the sand filled up everything else. "Now," said the professor, "I want you to recognize that this is your life.

The rocks are the important things - your family, your partner, your health, your children - anything that's important to you that if it were lost, you wouldn't recover from. The pebbles are other things in life that matter, only on a smaller scale; you wouldn't die without these. The sand is everything else, the "small stuff." "If you put the sand or the pebbles into the jar first, there is no room for the rocks. Pay attention to the things that are Important in your life and spend time on the Important.
Take care of the rocks first - the things that really matter. Set your priorities, the rest is just pebbles and sand.

Allocate specific times for specific tasks. Someone who’s running after time would inevitably procrastinate; deferring his duties and sometimes completely ignores them, and then becomes frustrated. Such individuals need to establish a routine. Create a routine to achieve more with less effort. Have a great Sunday ahead!
